SL MAN EXPERTISE

The staff members of SL Man have a wide range of backgrounds in terms of their experience and education. This has helped us to put together a varied team that can contribute significantly to our clients and business services in a multifaceted way. This expertise includes:

Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical engineering refers to the design and creation of machines and tools to accomplish various tasks within an even wider base of applications. Including this area of expertise as part of our services means that clients are assured of professional engineering assistance to suit their specific needs, without having to employ an external engineer that does not have the intimate knowledge of your business that we do.

Building Surveying

For almost any work that needs to be done on a specific property, a full survey will need to be conducted. Because all aspects of the facilities management and project management spheres are handled internally, it makes sense to conduct all research and surveying ourselves. This ensures that the entire project is cohesive, from beginning to end.

Business Administration

There are many spheres within any professional organisation that require management and administration. However, this takes an inordinate amount of time and effort, of which SL Man will take full control.

Law

Our in-house lawyer ensures that all of our clients can enjoy the benefits of legal advice and defence without the astronomical costs and inconveniences of hiring external lawyers. All contracts, processes and procedures that have legal implications will be evaluated by the SL Man lawyer to protect our clients as part of our service.

Technology

To ensure that we are able to deliver on all of our projects, we have the following technology, equipment and resources available:

Genesis Building Management Software is a comprehensive, locally developed, facilities management application. The application has been developed to manage land, fixed assets, moveable assets and facilities effectively. The system has been developed using Microsoft .NET technology and is, therefore, fully web compliant. The database used is Microsoft SQL, which allows for easy integration to other third party applications. An electronic model of the facility to be managed is developed in the CAD interface using building floor plans. This enables areas and location of assets to be dynamically uploaded to the database. The system can cater for both planned and unplanned maintenance and the generation of work orders. The full maintenance and financial history of both completed and outstanding maintenance is automatically recorded against each asset. The software also incorporates a Call Centre / Helpdesk for the reporting and tracking of maintenance issues. The software has been successfully implemented in many sites throughout South Africa.
